You'll work closely with the Directors and enjoy meaningful client interaction, exposure to a diverse client base, and genuine long-term career opportunities.The firm embraces modern technology, utilising MYOB Accountants Enterprise, Xero, MYOB cloud solutions and BGL software for SMSF administration and compliance.
Your new role
As a Senior Accountant, you will manage a broad portfolio of business services and taxation clients while providing outstanding client service and practical advice.Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Preparation of SMSF financial statements and compliance obligations (optional depending on your experience)
- Management of client compliance matters including BAS, IAS and other taxation requirements
- Researching and interpreting taxation legislation and providing advice to clients
- Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted adviser
- Identifying opportunities to assist clients with business improvement and advisory matters
- Supporting and mentoring junior accountants where required
- Working closely with the Directors on complex client matters and advisory projects
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- CA or CPA qualification completed
- 3+ years' experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across a range of entity structures
- Strong working knowledge of Xero and cloud-based accounting systems
- SMSF experience, including preparation and compliance obligations (optional)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical matters clearly
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
