We're looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a collaborative and high-performing People & Culture team on a temporary basis to cover leave.

Supporting a large and diverse workforce, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of fortnightly payroll while providing exceptional support to employees and stakeholders.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting the end-to-end payroll function across a large workforce, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities include:

• End-to-end fortnightly payroll processing
• Processing payroll changes, new starters and employee maintenance
• Managing payroll queries and providing exceptional customer service
• Award and EBA interpretation
• Processing superannuation and Single Touch Payroll
• Payroll reconciliations and reporting
• Supporting month-end and year-end payroll activities
• Maintaining payroll system integrity and data accuracy
• Assisting with payroll improvement initiatives and projects

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Proven experience in a payroll position within a medium to large organisation
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience interpreting awards, EBAs and complex payroll conditions
• Confidence processing high-volume payrolls with a high level of accuracy
• Strong reconciliation and reporting skills
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong attention to detail

  Highly Regarded

  • Experience using iChris and/or Chris21
  • Exposure to salary packaging administration
  • Experience within healthcare, community services, not-for-profit or similarly complex payroll environments
