Role purpose
The Event Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, development and delivery of customer engagement programs that support Business Marketing objectives and strengthen relationships with priority customers and stakeholders.
You will lead event strategy, stakeholder engagement, customer experience design, budget management, governance, communications and delivery outcomes across a portfolio of programs.
Working closely with business stakeholders, marketing teams, agencies and suppliers, you will ensure every event delivers a seamless customer experience while achieving agreed commercial, advocacy and engagement objectives.

Key responsibilities
Event strategy & program ownership
- Own a portfolio of customer engagement programs from concept through to evaluation
- Translate marketing and business objectives into compelling event strategies and experiences
- Develop event concepts, engagement approaches and customer experience frameworks
- Identify opportunities to enhance customer advocacy, engagement and relationship outcomes
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Business Marketing's customer engagement strategy
Stakeholder engagement
- Partner with Banking, Marketing, Brand, Corporate Affairs and external stakeholders to align event objectives and outcomes
- Build trusted relationships across business segments and functions
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations on customer engagement opportunities
- Present plans, outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams
End-to-end event delivery
- Lead all aspects of event planning and execution
- Develop project plans, budgets, timelines and delivery frameworks
- Manage agencies, suppliers, venues and production partners
- Oversee registrations, customer communications, run sheets and execution plans
- Ensure exceptional customer experience outcomes across every touchpoint
- Provide onsite leadership and issue resolution during event delivery
Governance, risk & compliance
- Maintain accountability for event governance and compliance requirements
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments and Workplace Health & Safety (HSW) controls are implemented
- Manage approvals and compliance obligations in partnership with the Events Team Coordinator
- Ensure activity complies with Group policies, legal requirements and operational standards
Reporting, insights & optimisation
- Establish success measures for programs and events
- Analyse attendance, engagement, advocacy and customer feedback data
- Evaluate program performance against agreed objectives
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimise future programs
- Leverage data and customer feedback to improve customer targeting, program design and event outcomes
Financial management
- Develop and manage event budgets
- Monitor expenditure and forecasting
- Identify efficiencies and maximise return on investment
- Manage supplier negotiations and contracts
- Deliver programs within approved financial parameters
