AVP/VP, Precious Metal Trader
The AVP/VP, Precious Metal Trader role delivers critical oversight of trading activities in precious metals, focusing on executing deals and managing associated risks in the global commodities market. The position is integral to maintaining market position while supporting the company's strategic trading objectives.
The role joins a dedicated team responsible for managing precious metal flow and derivatives transactions, ensuring compliance, system integration, and risk mitigation. Success in this position is measured by effective transaction execution, risk management, and collaboration with internal departments to optimise trading operations.
Key Skills & Experience
- Manage price setting, execution, and risk control for OTC spot, forward, swaps, options, and futures transactions in precious metals.
- Collaborate with sales to structure hedging and investment solutions for corporate and institutional clients.
- Work closely with compliance, operations, risk, and IT departments to ensure smooth desk execution and system improvements.
- Perform duties assigned by supervisor as needed.
- Hold a university degree or above in banking, finance, or business administration, with CFA preferred.
- Possess at least 5 years of experience in Precious Metal trading or related asset classes with a proven track record; relevant overseas experience is advantageous.
- Maintain an extensive client network with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of commodity trading models and product structures.
- Possess excellent written and spoken proficiency in Chinese and English.
