Application Support Analyst — Buy-Side Trading Platform Build
DARMAX GLOBAL Hong KongApplication Support Analyst — Buy-Side Trading Platform Build
A leading Asia-focused multi-strategy hedge fund platform is building its next-generation trading and portfolio-management stack in-house, and is hiring an Analyst or Associate into the team that owns it. This is a hybrid technology-and-operations seat — closer to a functional business analyst or product owner than to a pure developer or a pure trade-support role.
The role
- Run parallel tests and dummy-portfolio reconciliations between the incumbent third-party platform and the new in-house PMS, isolating and documenting PnL differences
- Validate end-to-end trade-data integrity from OEMS through to PMS, down to FIX-message level
- Translate current best practice into requirements for the internal developer team
- Act as the internal application-support and functional-BA point of contact for portfolio managers, traders and mid-office
- Bring product knowledge into platform design — cash equity, equity swap (TRS), corporate actions, PnL
You will have
- ~3–6 years in trading application support, trade support engineering, functional business analysis, or buy-side platform support — at a bank, broker-dealer, hedge fund, or trading-technology vendor
- Working knowledge of FIX messaging and OMS↔EMS trade-data flow — you can read a FIX log, spot the break, and say where the plumbing failed
- Genuine equity product knowledge: cash and equity swap PnL, corporate actions, dividend and financing accruals
- Framework understanding of OMS, EMS and PMS, and a clear view of where the golden source sits
- Working SQL and Python at pandas/NumPy level. AI copilots are welcome; understanding your own code is not optional
- The instinct to ask "what is the context, and how does this hit PnL?" when handed something unfamiliar
- Professional English; right to work in Hong Kong
Why apply
Day-zero ownership of a strategic platform build at a large Asia multi-manager — rare at this level of seniority. A defined path into a team-lead / Level-2 escalation seat as the platform and the team scale. Direct reporting to the executive who built most of the firm's existing automation. An AI-native environment where product judgement is prized over syntax. Mandarin is useful but not required.
