We are seeking an experienced Insurance Operations Business Analyst to support operational transformation, process improvement, and strategic initiatives within the insurance sector. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, operations teams, and technology partners to identify process enhancement opportunities, optimize operational workflows, and support the delivery of solutions across core insurance functions.
This role is ideal for someone with strong insurance operations knowledge, experience in process improvement initiatives, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and operational requirements across insurance functions.
- Partner with Operations, Underwriting, Claims, Policy Administration, Distribution, and Technology teams to support business initiatives and operational improvements.
- Analyze and map end-to-end insurance processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, compliance, and customer outcomes.
- Support initiatives related to policy administration, new business processing, underwriting operations, claims management, renewals, and customer servicing.
- Develop business requirements documents, process maps, operating procedures, user stories, and functional specifications.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder discussions, process reviews, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Perform gap analysis and impact assessments for process, regulatory, and system changes.
- Monitor operational challenges and recommend solutions to improve productivity, turnaround times, and service delivery.
- Ensure business solutions align with operational objectives, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Support process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across insurance operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Insurance, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst experience, preferably within insurance operations.
- Strong understanding of insurance operational processes, including Policy Administration, Underwriting, Claims, Customer Service, and Policy Servicing.
- Experience supporting operational transformation, process improvement, workflow optimization, or system enhancement initiatives within the insurance industry.
- Knowledge of insurance distribution channels, including Agency, Broker, Bancassurance, and Direct channels.
- Experience working with core insurance systems, policy administration platforms, or claims management systems is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, process mapping, and requirements-gathering skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Experience with regulatory, compliance, and operational risk considerations within the insurance industry is an advantage.
- Fluent in Cantonese and English (spoken and written).
