Hedge Fund Operations Manager/Assistant Manager
Hudson Highland Limited Hong KongHedge Fund Operations Manager/Assistant Manager
An established hedge fund manager is adding to its operations team as an internal move opens up a seat. It's a lean, multicultural shop, and this role reports directly into the COO with real visibility into how the funds are run. If you've built your career in hedge fund operations and want genuine ownership rather than a narrow slice, this one's worth a look.
What you'll do
- Run the day-to-day operations of the funds: trade capture and affirmation through the PMS, settlement tracking, and driving breaks to resolution with prime brokers, administrators and vendors.
- Keep the books clean across custodian and PB reconciliations, corporate actions, and cash, margin and collateral movements.
- Own the NAV process, producing periodic estimates and reviewing valuations, P&L and accounting entries against the administrator for accuracy.
- Stay on top of capital flows and short-position disclosure obligations, and support the operational controls behind risk, finance and the annual audit.
- Sharpen and streamline workflows, plus the occasional ad-hoc project.
What you'll bring
- 3–5 years specifically in hedge fund operations, already fluent in the workflow and product set (this is the core requirement).
- A degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with a portfolio management system, strong Excel, and comfort across options, fixed income, swaps and NDFs.
- Fluent English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin a real plus.
- Bonus points for: Python or other scripting, and any compliance exposure.
The setup
- A manager-level seat reporting into operations leadership, in a firm that likes to see people grow.
- Medical cover and above-statutory annual leave.
- Best suited to a proactive, self-directed operator who enjoys owning problems end-to-end.
