Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux/Unix operating systems across on-premises data centre infrastructure.
- Work closely with vendors and global/regional teams to ensure seamless infrastructure setup and operational stability.
- Follow structured problem-solving and incident management processes (Example- ITIL framework) to resolve infrastructure and middleware issues.
- Manage and maintain virtualisation environments (VMware, KVM, OpenShift) and support containerisation initiatives (Docker).
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to deliver reliable and scalable on-prem solutions.
- Contribute to infrastructure projects including OS provisioning, server build, patching, and middleware integration.
Key Requirements
Mandatory
- Experience: Solid experience in infrastructure engineering with a focus on on-premises data centre environments.
- Linux/Unix Administration: Strong hands-on skills with Linux/Unix (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
- Vendor Collaboration: Proven ability to work with external vendors and cross-functional global teams.
- Middleware Knowledge: Working knowledge of Kafka and MQ (terminologies, concepts, installation, and configuration - deep expertise not required).
- Virtualisation: Experience with VMware, KVM, or OpenShift (or similar virtualisation platforms).
- Containers: Basic understanding of Docker or containerisation concepts.
- Databases: Some exposure to database concepts (understanding, not necessarily deep DBA skills).
- Languages: Good command of Cantonese and basic English
