Senior Quantitative Researcher | Agency Execution, Algo Trading & TCA | Singapore
Are you an experienced quantitative researcher who understands how execution research can directly improve trading performance?
I’m working with a leading global investment firm that’s hiring a Senior Quantitative Researcher to help shape its central execution strategy and internal liquidity capabilities. This is a senior, highly visible role sitting at the intersection of quantitative research, electronic trading, technology, and product development.
We’re particularly keen to speak with candidates from agency execution, algorithmic trading, or transaction cost analysis teams who can formulate hypotheses, turn complex trading data into actionable insights, and communicate confidently with portfolio managers and external brokers.
This is an opportunity to influence firm-wide trading processes, steer the development of sophisticated execution products, and identify new ways to improve execution quality and investment performance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conduct quantitative research into execution performance, market impact, liquidity, and trading behaviour.
- Formulate and test hypotheses designed to improve execution quality and trading outcomes.
- Analyse transaction cost and performance data to identify actionable opportunities.
- Design and evaluate A/B experiments in partnership with internal teams and external brokers.
- Help steer product development across central trading processes, execution analytics, and internal liquidity pools.
- Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, technologists, and other senior stakeholders.
- Expand analytical capabilities across asset classes, trading styles, products, and markets.
- Monitor developments in Asian market structure, regulation, and electronic execution.
What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience in quantitative research, agency execution, algorithmic trading, electronic trading, or TCA.
- Strong understanding of trading logic, execution performance, market impact, and transaction cost analysis.
- Experience within a sell-side electronic trading or agency execution team is particularly relevant, although strong buy-side candidates are also welcome.
- Excellent quantitative and statistical skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into commercial trading decisions.
- A research-driven mindset and the ability to develop, test, and clearly communicate original hypotheses.
- Strong Python experience; knowledge of KDB is highly advantageous.
- Deep knowledge of Asian market structure.
- Excellent communication skills and the credibility to engage regularly with portfolio managers, senior stakeholders, and external brokers.
- A degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
Why Join?
- Take on a senior role with meaningful influence over firm-wide execution strategy.
- Apply quantitative research directly to real trading decisions and investment outcomes.
- Steer the evolution of central trading processes, execution products, and internal liquidity solutions.
- Work alongside experienced portfolio managers, traders, quantitative researchers, and technologists.
- Join a highly collaborative, data-driven environment with significant scope to make an impact.
If you’re interested in using research to shape sophisticated execution strategies—or simply curious to learn more—I’d be happy to have a confidential conversation.
