Senior System Analyst (Java) - Banking (Contract)

About the Client

Our client is a premier, tier-one international banking group with a strong market presence in Hong Kong and across Asia. They are expanding their technology team to upgrade and maintain core enterprise applications that support critical financial operations. This position is a 6-month extendable contract with high renewal potential.

Key Responsibilities

Drive system development and enhancement projects for core Corporate Banking and Custody platforms.
Gather user requirements and create detailed functional and technical design specifications.
Supervise development teams to guarantee code quality and deliver projects on schedule.
Perform hands-on software development, testing, and system maintenance.
Partner with external vendors to ensure deliverables stay within scope and budget.
Oversee quality assurance and end-to-end testing processes across the software life cycle.

Requirements

Degree holder or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of solid experience in software engineering, ideally in a lead capacity.
Hands-on proficiency in Java, JMS, WebSphere, Oracle, SQL, MQ, Python, UNIX, AIX, and Shell Scripting.
Domain knowledge in Corporate Banking, Custody, Corporate Trust, or Agency Business is highly preferred.
Solid grasp of the full SDLC, system architecture design, and QA testing practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills with strong communication in English and Chinese (Mandarin is a plus).
