Our client is a leading international Financial Institution with a strong growth plan in place in Hong Kong. Committed to transforming and making positive impacts in the financial markets, the company is seeking an experienced project manager to drive and manage the strategic initiatives related to securities and derivatives trading, market development, trading platforms and complex infrastructure.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

• Senior lead in the team to spearhead the development and execution of strategic initiatives in equities and derivatives trading aimed at improving service capabilities, system performance, and scalability.
• Build strong partnerships with regulators, exchanges, industry associations, and mainland and regional counterparts to drive alignment and collaboration.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders across technology, operations, and business functions to ensure seamless implementation of key initiatives.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle, from planning and governance through execution and delivery, ensuring milestones are achieved effectively.
• Maintain strong communication channels with key stakeholders, providing timely updates on project progress, risks, and emerging issues.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure successful delivery of milestones and key deliverables.
• Keep abreast of market dynamics, policy developments, and emerging industry trends to support strategic decision-making and future programme design.
• Lead, motivate, and mentor a lean team, fostering capability development and high performance.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

• University degree in STEM, finance or business administration subjects
• Minimum 12-15 years relevant strategic project management experience ideally from both Management Consulting firm and in-house in a Financial Institution (Investment Banking, Securities / Brokerage, Capital Markets)
• Experience as a Project Manager / Project Leader in project delivery, transformation and change management focusing on securities trading, capital markets, equities / derivatives trading systems and platforms
• Proven experience in leading / executing projects in sizeable, cross-departmental and complex financial institutions
• Solid project management, analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a strong growth mindset and intellectual curiosity
• Skilled in presenting complex ideas and influencing stakeholders, proactive, and effective in building cross-functional relationships.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
