About the Role

As a Senior Accountant within the International Financial Management (IFM) team, you will be at the heart of technically accounting for international programme policy transactions. You will ensure seamless and compliant risk transfers and cash flows between Producing/Local Offices, Network Partners, the Central Pooling Carrier, and External (Co-)Reinsurers. This is a high-impact role that combines technical accounting expertise with cross-functional collaboration and project leadership on a truly global scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Book, reconcile and settle technical accounts (premium, commissions, fees, claims payments) to and from the pooling carrier for assumed reinsurance NP policies, skeleton technical bookings and reinsurance transactions on a monthly basis
  • Produce monthly co-reinsurance and Network Partner statements of account with accuracy and timeliness
  • Resolve reconciliation findings (Co-reinsurance/NP) in collaboration with respective internal and external functions
  • Monitor and report open balances and coordinate with the International Desk, Network Partner Coordinator, regional Technical Accounting teams, and Underwriters on outstanding balances
  • Act as the first point of contact within International Business for Local/Producing Office Technical Accounting teams, Finance FP&A, and Products performing financial reporting on International Business
  • Ensure reconciliation of International Business technical accounts in the administration system and support Finance on reconciliations in financial ledgers as required (e.g. skeleton process, local premium collection, central premium collection, invoiced versus booked)
  • Compare, contrast and authorize incoming co-reinsurance data in the system against real contracts
  • Define, implement and execute processes relating to technical accounting and credit control for international programmes
  • Maintain control over risk assessment processes
  • Liaise with International Desk, Global Network Management, Regional Technical Accounting teams, Claims/Claims Operations and Underwriters/Underwriting Assistance teams to ensure service standards are met
  • Lead ongoing projects to strengthen the IFM core process
  • Actively support audits by responding to RFIs and IRFs
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions for the purpose of conveying information required to perform job functions
  • Contribute to team effort by assisting other team members when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About the Team

The International Financial Management (IFM) team's mandate is to technically account for international programme policy transactions, ensuring compliant and efficient risk transfers and cash flows between Producing/Local Offices, Network Partners, the Central Pooling Carrier, and External (Co-)Reinsurers. The team is also responsible for reporting, analytics, and commentaries regarding International Business, including monthly aged debt reports, monthly premium flows by Producing Office, and consolidation of accounts by client programme.

  • Corporate Solutions and Network Partner Local Offices worldwide
  • Corporate Solutions Producing Offices
  • External brokers and insureds
  • Finance Corporate Solutions
  • Reinsurance partners

About You

You are a seasoned accounting professional who brings both technical depth and collaborative energy to everything you do. You are comfortable navigating complexity, communicating intricate financial matters to diverse audiences, and taking ownership of your responsibilities with confidence and integrity. You are a natural relationship-builder who earns trust across teams and geographies, and you are driven by a commitment to continuous improvement.

We Are Looking for Candidates Who Meet These Requirements:

  • CA/CS/ICWA/MBA (Finance) with at least 8-10 years of relevant working experience and good knowledge of insurance/reinsurance
  • Previous Insurance Technical Accounting experience - understanding of insurance technical accounting principles as well as solid understanding of international insurance programmes
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output to short deadlines and manage details without losing sight of the "big picture"

These Are Additional Nice to Haves:
  • Previous experience in assumed reinsurance technical accounting and reconciliation of pooling carrier transactions
  • Strong communication skills, in particular the ability to summarize complex technical issues for a non-expert audience, both written and verbal
  • Capability of building trust with all areas of the business, in particular with Primary Lead teams, Consolidation and regional Technical Accounting teams, and regional Operations teams
  • Ability to translate business initiatives into clear, actionable strategies
  • Good project management skills with a commitment to continuous process improvement
  • Stress resilience with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well and build trust with others
  • Personal accountability for areas of responsibility

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
