A leading global alternative asset management firm is seeking a Senior Credit Investment Professional to join its Investment team in Tokyo. The firm specializes in Private Equity, Private Debt, Infrastructure, and Real Estate investments, serving institutional investors worldwide.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced investment professional with strong expertise in Origination, Financial Modelling, and Credit Investments to become a key representative of the Japan business. You will lead the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities while working closely with global teams in a highly collaborative international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate and evaluate new credit investment opportunities across the Japanese market.
• Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions, corporate clients, and strategic partners to generate investment opportunities.
• Build sophisticated financial models to assess investment opportunities and support investment decision-making.
• Conduct market research, industry analysis, and financial due diligence on potential investments.
• Evaluate and execute investments across loans, debt, lending, and other credit-related products.
• Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to internal investment committees.
• Collaborate with global investment professionals on cross-border transactions and strategic initiatives.
• Represent the Japan business as a senior member of the Investment team.

Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:

• 12-13+ years of professional experience in investment banking, asset management, consulting, or another related financial services field.
• Strong experience in Origination and Financial Modelling.
• Experience working within investment banking, private markets, asset management, or financial advisory environments.
• Bachelor's degree or above.
• Business-level English communication skills.

• Excellent financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to identify and evaluate investment opportunities.
• Strategic thinking and sound investment judgement.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with international teams.

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Fluent
• English: Intermediate / Business

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience investing in credit, loans, private debt, or other fixed income products.
• Experience across alternative asset classes such as Private Equity, Infrastructure, or Real Estate is also welcomed.
• Experience working with institutional investors.
• Previous exposure to cross-border investment transactions.
• Experience within a global asset management or alternative investment firm.
