As a Financial Controller in the Finance team, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the firm's books and records. You will focus on controls over the general ledger, operating systems, and infrastructure, supporting the entire business lifecycle. You will work closely with colleagues across the organization, helping to drive process improvements and maintain high standards. Your expertise will help us deliver reliable financial information and support business success.

As a Financial Controller in the Finance team, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the firm's books and records. You will focus on controls over the general ledger, operating systems, and infrastructure, supporting the entire business lifecycle. You will work closely with colleagues across the organization, helping to drive process improvements and maintain high standards. Job responsibilities
- Manage and support the consolidation of financial data at month-end.
- Ensure the accuracy and validity of general ledger accounts in line with firm-wide standards.
- Oversee Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet controls, identifying and implementing efficiency opportunities.
- Analyze, communicate, and resolve material variances between the General Ledger and upstream systems.
- Establish and manage relationships with controllers, business managers, technology, and operations teams globally.
- Identify gaps in reconciliation processes and participate in implementing new controls and solutions.
- Coordinate month-end close activities for your line of business.
- Perform Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliation and substantiation.
- Oversee inter-entity controls and manual bookings to the general ledger.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related numerical field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in banking, accounting, or finance, including people management responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting concepts, including Balance Sheet and P&L.
- Knowledge of investment bank products such as derivatives, bonds, and loans.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with large datasets.
- Excellent business English and communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Self-driven with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across teams.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a constantly changing environment.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with General Ledger Reconciliation & Substantiation (GLRS) standards.
- Prior involvement in process improvement or automation initiatives.
- Familiarity with financial control functions in a global organization.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
- Exposure to regulatory reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
