Balyasny Asset Management (BAM) is a diversified global investment firm founded in 2001 by Dmitry Balyasny, Scott Schroeder, and Taylor O'Malley. Role & Responsibilities
• Primary: Develop and execute communications plans that:
o Foster and sustain Balyasny's unique culture of partnership
o Enhance employee engagement and retention throughout the region
o Facilitate information and knowledge-sharing within and across offices, and closer connectivity between Asia, the US and EMEA
o Support execution in Asia of the firm's Employee Value Proposition
• Secondary: Work with communications colleagues to identify appropriate external communications opportunities in Asia
• Build relationships and trust with senior internal stakeholders in Asia
• Track competitor communications and marketing activities across the region
• Create written, visual, and audio content for Balyasny's employee intranet, firmwide newsletter, in regional communications initiatives
• Manage components of intranet and newsletter operations, related technology platforms, and content calendar
• Assist with development of talking points and announcements/statements
• Conduct desktop research
• Create presentations, memo, and reports
• Manage tracking of team's work product, develop quarterly progress reports
Requirements
• Ambitious, entrepreneurial personality; must be able to think critically and act independently
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a strong academic record
• 10-12 years of communications experience; experience working for a financial or professional services firm strongly preferred; mix of internal and external communications experience a plus
• Proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English
• Regular travel in the region
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, partner with colleagues from a variety of functions and businesses to drive results, balance multiple concurrent projects/deadlines, and efficiently manage tasks and time
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and a learning mindset
• Highly organized; strong attention to detail and a dedication to accuracy, quality, and integrity
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 required; experience working with Generative AI and design software (Canva or Adobe Creative Suite) a plus
