Our client is a leading global corporate and investment banking institution with a powerful footprint across Asia-Pacific. They are currently seeking a high-caliber legal professional at the Executive Director level to lead and oversee legal matters for their Structured Finance and Fixed Income businesses based in Singapore.
This is a high-visibility, senior leadership role requiring an astute legal strategist who can act as a trusted advisor to senior business stakeholders while managing complex transaction risks.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Legal Advisory: Act as the primary legal advisor to the Singapore leadership team, front-office business lines, and regional stakeholders on structured finance, fixed income derivatives, and debt capital markets transactions.
- Transaction Management: Oversee, draft, and negotiate complex legal documentation for structured products, asset-backed securitizations, project finance, and tailored fixed-income structures.
- Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Proactively identify and manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risks. Ensure all business activities align with evolving local and international regulatory frameworks (including MAS mandates).
- Stakeholder Management: Establish strong, collaborative relationships with traders, originators, credit risk teams, and compliance officers to facilitate business growth within a robust risk-control framework.
- External Counsel Management: Select and manage external legal counsel efficiently, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective representation for the bank.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) gained within a major international law firm and/or a prominent global corporate and investment bank.
- Domain Expertise: Strong, proven expertise in Fixed Income products and a deeply specialized background in Structured Finance .
- Qualifications: Bachelor of Laws (LLB/LLM) from a recognized university. Admission to a relevant common law jurisdiction (e.g., Singapore, England & Wales, or New York) is required.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to operate at a senior executive level, with excellent communication, negotiation, and influence skills.
- Jurisdiction: Deep familiarity with Singapore/MAS regulations and broader APAC financial market standards.
