Lead, User Experience Design
Great Eastern Life Assurance Co Ltd SingaporeLead, User Experience Design
Great Eastern is transforming how our customers and advisors engage with digitally, across web, mobile and emerging conversational and AI-enabled interfaces. We want these experiences to be simpler, more intuitive and exceptionally well designed, with the visual and interaction quality customers increasingly expect from the best digital platforms.
As Lead, User Experience Design, you will help set that standard. You will work across research, UX and UI design and prototyping, translating complex requirements into experiences that are clear, highly engaging and visually refined. You will stay close to implementation to ensure the quality of the design carries through to what is delivered and use evidence from real-world usage to continuously improve it.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer and business problems and frame opportunities before designing solutions, working closely with business and engineering teams to shape the design direction.
- Plan and conduct user research, translating insights into clear design direction, principles and measurable outcomes.
- Design high-quality interfaces and interactions across mobile, desktop, conversational, voice and agentic experiences, combining strong visual craft with interaction design, information organisation and inclusive design practices.
- Develop prototypes, test designs with users and continuously refine the experience based on evidence and feedback.
- Contribute to and evolve the design system, ensuring consistency in implementation while identifying and addressing gaps.
- Apply generative and agentic AI in the design process, including research synthesis, concept development, synthetic participants and AI-assisted prototyping.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams from concept through launch, partnering with developers to maintain the quality and integrity of the design through implementation and monitoring performance after launch.
- Raise the quality of design across the team through critique, coaching and sharing of good design practices.
We are looking for people who
- Have a strong portfolio demonstrating both UX thinking and exceptional UI craft, showing how customer problems, design decisions and quality of execution come together in the final experience.
- Have a strong eye for visual and interaction detail, including hierarchy, layout, typography, spacing, interaction states and responsive behaviour, and can clearly articulate the rationale behind their design choices.
- Are comfortable designing across screen-based, conversational and agentic interfaces, with an understanding of how interaction design changes across these formats.
- Have practical experience using generative and agentic AI in design, with sound judgement on where these approaches add value and where they do not.
- Use research, testing and post-launch evidence to evaluate designs and adapt when the evidence shows something is not working.
- Communicate design rationale clearly to business and technical audiences and influence stakeholders with a strong understanding of customer and commercial considerations.
- Have experience designing complex digital platforms where information, interactions and functionality need to work coherently across interfaces, devices and customer contexts.
- Have 8+ years of experience in UX, interaction design, experience design or design research, and hold a degree in Design, Psychology, Business, Digital Technology or a related discipline.
- Depth in one or more areas including information organisation, interaction design, design research, prototyping, usability testing, design systems or content design, and exposure to financial services, will be advantageous.
How you succeed

- Demonstrate high level of integrity and accountability.
- Take initiative to drive improvements and embrace change.
- Take accountability of business and regulatory compliance risks, implementing measures to mitigate them effectively.
