Job Description

As part of the Governance & Liaison team in Group Compliance, the successful candidate plays a key role in the strategy and execution of ongoing engagement and relationship management with MAS, as well as to deliver compliance-related management reports to senior management. Key responsibilities include -

Regulatory liaison

• Develop strategy and governance for regulatory relationship management and engagement to ensure close and positive relationship with MAS
• Liaise with MAS and internal stakeholders on regular regulatory submissions (including annual CRAFT submission) and ad-hoc information requests
• Oversee the coordination of meetings with MAS (including Supervisory College and Annual Business Meetings)
• Coordinate bank-wide MAS consultation papers and MAS inspections where necessary
• Oversee the dissemination of regulatory updates to Group Compliance teams
• Manage the analysis of regulatory communication to uncover insights and hotspots, using data analytics
• Manage reporting to senior management on regulatory interaction and insights

Management reporting and governance

• Support the timely and accurate preparation and delivery of compliance-related reports to MAS, senior management and board committees
• Analyze compliance data (such as regulatory breaches) and trends to identify potential risks and emerging issues
• Manage ad-hoc requests from senior management, stakeholders, and regulators

Job Requirements

• Degree qualification with at least 10 years of work experience, preferably with prior experience working with the local banking regulator.
• Prior regulatory engagement or governance role at a major financial institution will be an advantage
• Demonstrate high level of initiative, pro-activeness and accountability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex concepts into clear, concise materials for regulators and senior executives.
• Ability to build strong internal and external networks and experience engaging with senior management on strategic regulatory issues
• Ability to establish and maintain positive engagement with regulators, internal stakeholders and team members
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
