About the Role

Quilter is currently investing in an ambitious transformation programme to drive growth, modernise its technology infrastructure and deliver an excellent customer experience. High quality data is core to the success of our strategy, and we have therefore created a new position reporting directly to the Group Chief Operating Officer to lead the creation and implementation of a Quilter wide data strategy.

Based in London, or Southampton (hybrid, 2-3 days in office), our Chief Data Officer (CDO), will shape how we harnesses data, insight and AI to drive growth, improve customer outcomes and strengthen decision-making across the Group. Reporting to the Chief Data and Technology Officer, this is a pivotal enterprise leadership role with responsibility for defining and delivering Quilter's data strategy. You'll ensure data is treated as a strategic asset, creating the foundations that enable advanced analytics, digital transformation and the responsible adoption of AI at scale.

Working closely with Executive Committee members, business leaders and technology teams, you'll identify opportunities where data can unlock commercial value, enhance client and adviser experiences, improve operational performance and support our ambitious growth agenda.

In this role, you will:

• Define and lead our enterprise-wide data strategy, aligning data investments with business priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Drive a data-driven culture where trusted insight informs strategic and operational decision-making.
• Build and lead a high-performing data organisation recognised as a trusted partner across the business.
• Establish modern, scalable data platforms, architectures and engineering capabilities that support analytics, automation and AI.
• Create robust governance, ownership and data quality frameworks that balance innovation with regulatory requirements.
• Shape the foundations for responsible AI adoption through trusted, accessible and well-governed data.
• Influence Board and Executive-level decision-making, acting as a trusted adviser on opportunities, risks and emerging technologies.
• Strengthen Quilter's position externally by building relationships with regulators, industry bodies, partners and technology providers.
• Deliver tangible business value by connecting data strategy to commercial growth, operational efficiency and enhanced customer outcomes.

About You

You're a commercially minded data leader who understands that great data strategies only matter when they deliver real business outcomes. You bring a proven track record of leading enterprise-scale data transformation within complex, regulated organisations and know how to turn ambitious strategies into practical, measurable results. Comfortable operating at Board and Executive Committee level, you build credibility quickly and influence through expertise, collaboration and strong relationships.

You will bring:

• Executive-level leadership experience in data, analytics, information management or digital transformation.
• A strong track record of delivering measurable business value through data-led initiatives.
• Deep understanding of how data can improve customer outcomes, business performance and competitive advantage.
• Experience building enterprise data strategies, governance frameworks and operating models at scale.
• Expertise in modern data platforms, cloud technologies, self-service analytics and data products.
• A strong appreciation of how trusted data enables AI, automation and advanced analytics.
• Experience delivering complex transformation programmes across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to prioritise investment, manage competing demands and demonstrate value realisation.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, risk and regulatory requirements within a regulated environment.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
