We are partnering with our client, a leading institution in the commodities space, to appoint a VP- Gas and Carbon Trader in London. This is a permanent role within our client's team, focused on building and expanding a high-calibre trading franchise across gas and carbon markets. You will play a key strategic role, driving flow trading activity, shaping linear and non-linear trading strategies, and contributing directly to the growth and direction of the business.
Key Skills & Experience
- Gas and Carbon market knowledge: Deep understanding of gas and carbon markets, pricing drivers, regulatory landscape, and the inter linkages across commodities.
- Flow trading experience: Ability to manage and grow flow trading activities, optimising risk and return while supporting client flow and market-making needs.
- Linear and non-linear trading strategies: Experience structuring and executing both linear and non-linear trades, including complex products, to generate sustainable P&L.
- Sell side experience: Background within a bank setting, comfortable operating within institutional risk frameworks and governance standards.
- Entrepreneurial, business-building mindset: Track record of identifying opportunities, launching new initiatives, and contributing to the growth of trading businesses.
- Strategic approach: Ability to think strategically about markets, client needs, and product development, influencing the direction of our client's commodities platform.
