Job Description



Visa Cybersecurity VMP team is seeking a Software Engineer for a hands-on technical role focused on troubleshooting, coding, and automation using Generative AI (GenAI) tools, including Claude code. The ideal candidate is proficient in Python, Bash, or Go, and eager to apply classroom knowledge to solving real-world technical challenges in a collaborative team environment. The role offers exposure to administering containerized microservices in Kubernetes (K8s), with opportunities to learn from experienced engineers and work on cloud platforms.



Key Responsibilities

• Assist in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.


• Help develop and execute Chainsaw tests to ensure system reliability and robustness.


• Support deployment automation and configuration management using ArgoCD.


• Learn to set up and monitor logging and metrics using Prometheus, Splunk, and ClickHouse.


• Contribute to maintaining and querying search and analytics stacks with Opensearch/Elasticsearch.


• Use Generative AI tools-including Claude-to help troubleshoot and automate DevOps tasks.


• Adapt quickly to new tools, technologies, and requirements.


• Work collaboratively with engineers, participating in team projects and meetings.

All Visa roles require
digital fluency , including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.




Qualifications




Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business or a related field, graduating May 2026 - August 2027.

• Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications that demonstrate professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one programming language or technology including, but not limited, to Java, C/C++, C#, .NET, python, Javascript, HTML


• Completed coursework or hands-on experience in Python, Bash, or Go for scripting and automation.


• Exposure to containerized microservices in Kubernetes environments (e.g., class projects, labs, internships).


• Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn new skills and technologies.


• Familiarity with some of the following (preferred but not required):

• Document process, designs, test results, and analysis

• Lead root cause analysis and track defect resolution to completion

• Review and provide feedback on development code, test designs and test cases


• Hands-on experience with design and development tools like IntelliJ, VSCode, Postman, and Jupyter.


• Experience or knowledge in working with both RDBMS (preferably MySQL) and NoSQL databases (preferably Cassandra).


• Knowledge of Git for version control

Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
