DCS is looking for an Electro-Optical (EO) Scientist to help develop and integrate technologies for use in Naval ISR applications at the Naval Research Laboratory.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform a mix of hardware and software development in implementing systems in these technical areas:
Event based cameras;
Temporal processing of imagery;
Infrared imaging systems;
Hyperspectral imaging systems and processing;
Novel optical methods;
Machine vision processing
Typical tasks include:
Developing concepts and designs leading to a prototype system.
Integrating systems with command and control, power, and data collection subsystems.
Developing and updating design documents such as Interface Control Documents (ICD) and power and communication schematics.
Testing and evaluating prototype sensors in laboratory and field environments.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
PhD or Master's degree in a related field and 0-3 years of relevant experience.
Must be willing to apply for a DoD clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a clearance.
Experience working in a laboratory environment.
Must be willing to travel to support test events and attend conferences or symposia.
Desired Skills:
Experience with in one or more of the technical areas listed.
Experience modeling system performance, developing system specifications and selecting components.
