The Data Risk Manager will support the ongoing development, embedding, and maturing of new technology in Deloitte by providing pragmatic data risk advice and assessments within the firm's delivery frameworks. National Quality and Risk Management
We ensure we manage our business with integrity. This includes developing and managing assurance and business risk frameworks, anti-money laundering, addressing any potential conflicts of interest amongst clients and maintaining our independence from them, ensuring we're compliant and managing the security of our people.

We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). The Data Risk Manager will support the ongoing development, embedding, and maturing of new technology in Deloitte by providing pragmatic data risk advice and assessments within the firm's delivery frameworks. You will play a vital role within Deloitte's Office of the DPO/Confidentiality team in QRS, collaborating with colleagues across the firm. Your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the assessment and implementation of technologies using the firm's Technology Operating Model and associated risk governance processes.
- Consuming technology assessments from the Global Technology Organisation and considering the requirements to support implementation in the UK.
- Advising technology teams of the privacy and confidentiality risks associated with technology implementation at the design phase.
- Manage a portfolio of assessments and consultations with competing deadlines, collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams including Technology Assurance, AI Transformation Delivery, Third Party Risk Management, Legal, etc. to deliver high-quality data risk advice.
- Responding promptly to data risk queries from engineering, product development, and risk professionals, supporting transformation and change across the business.
- Helping develop and maintain FAQs, playbooks, templates and processes to drive quality, efficiency and scale within the team.
- Working collaboratively across geographies to identify and share good practice and drive commonality where appropriate.

Essentials:
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of technology infrastructure, including AI technologies and associated risks (ethical, regulatory, operational, and security risks).
- Experience providing pragmatic, risk-based advice to technology, business delivery teams or clients, within a risk domain (such as Cyber or technology assurance, Confidentiality and Data Protection).
- Experience of working with risk management, governance, and assurance frameworks, ideally within a professional services or technology environment.
- Understanding of the concepts of data risks (including data protection, confidentiality and data management) and the associated requirements when implementing technologies in a complex data environment, including risk assessments.
- Proven ability to distill complex technological language and concepts into simple language.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present information clearly and support engagement with diverse stakeholders.
- A strategic mindset with a strong ability to prioritise effectively and deliver against multiple priorities.
- Interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the firm, fostering collaboration and credibility with internal stakeholders.
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn from others in your network to expand your value to your stakeholders.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to contribute effectively within a high-performing team environment.
Desirables:
- Understanding of the UK data protection framework.
- Experience of documenting privacy and confidentiality risk assessments, including Data Protection Impact Assessments.
- Understanding of relevant AI regulatory and assurance frameworks, such as the EU AI Act and ISO42001, and experience supporting policy and process development to meet requirements.
- Familiarity with Deloitte's Trustworthy AI Framework.
- Experience working collaboratively across geographies and regulatory frameworks.
- Awareness of how risk management requirements are operationalised within delivery centres and associated risks.
