Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Compliance Manager with strong experience in UK personal and corporate taxation. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing and ensuring compliance across all tax matters for the organisation and its key stakeholders. You will work closely with internal teams and external advisors to ensure accurate, timely filings and proactive tax risk management.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage all aspects of personal tax compliance, including the preparation, review, and submission of tax returns, estate tax returns and capital gains tax reports and discuss the same with clients.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant HMRC regulations and UK tax laws.
• Act as the primary contact for HMRC inquiries, audits, and correspondence.
• Work with external advisors and internal teams to ensure accurate tax computations and disclosures.
• Monitor tax legislation and provide advice on the impact of regulatory changes.
• Provide personal tax support for annual accounts and statutory filings.
• Manage and improve internal tax control processes and systems.
• Support tax planning initiatives to ensure efficient tax structuring and optimisation for both corporate and personal matters.
• Prepare and manage the tax compliance calendar to meet all filing deadlines.
• Train and support junior staff or stakeholders on tax compliance matters.
• Provide Tax compliance services where appropriate to a large selection of clients.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, including interaction with clients and colleagues to ensure all deadlines (client & statutory) are met.
• Develop relationships with clients, local external stakeholders like solicitors, and people within the firm.
• Identify risks in relation to the Firm's quality control procedures and raising to the appropriate person.
• Supporting Partners and managing a team.
• Writing client reports.
Key Requirements
• Professional tax qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA, ATT, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years previous experience working in a Practice tax environment.
Additional Requirements
• Experience of CCH and HMRC portals would be useful.
• Commercially minded with a clear perception of client requirements.
• Confident and professional.
