Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Rates Trading business within the Global Fixed Income business in London, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Provide market making capabilities in Fixed Income products to our sales staff and customer base through a variety of different channels, including voice and electronic streams, ensuring a diligent customer focus within the risk appetite of the business and the bank.
- Primary focus on the inflation book and EUR vol trading
- Understanding of pre-established market risk limits and desk position limits to ensure all risks are understood and within the appetite of the GFI business and specific desk.
- Provide appropriate market color and information internally to the broader sales team, in addition to have a proper understanding of market functioning, liquidity and specific dynamics of Fixed Income markets globally.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct
- Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment; supporting the vision/values/business strategy for the team.
Dimensions
- Market making responsibility for Fixed Income products, responsible for London market making, with cross over to the North America and Asia Pacific
- Annual budget to attain based on market making and trading activities.
- Understanding and knowledge of all relevant Fixed Income systems
- Provide market color and assist with client requests in line with our internal policies.
- Awareness of relevant regulatory items and upcoming changes in these items (EMIR, FCA etc.)
- Collaboration across the FICC business
Education / Experience
- FCA Certified Person
- Understanding of Fixed Income market functioning and liquidity
- Extensive product knowledge in Fixed Income
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the Global Code and policies specific to markets where we trade Fixed Income.
