We are helping a well-known UK wholesale bank, with a focus on emerging markets, with their search for a new Head of Prudential Reporting . This is the second of two newly created roles they have in their Treasury team. You will lead the preparation, review, control and submission of prudential and conduct regulatory returns. Ensuring accuracy across the Group and providing ownership of regulatory change, data quality and submission governance. The head office is in London which you will need to attend 3 days a week, with WFH the rest of the time
Role Description
- Own and coordinate the preparation, review and submission of COREP, FINREP and other prudential, statistical and conduct regulatory returns, ensuring outputs are accurate, complete, timely and supported by clear evidence
- Maintain a robust regulatory reporting control framework, including documented procedures, maker-checker review points, sign-off evidence, issue logs, reconciliations and escalation routes
- Monitor PRA, FCA, Bank of England and other relevant regulatory developments, assess reporting impacts and coordinate implementation of new or amended requirements across Finance and relevant stakeholders
- Support with regulatory capital, liquidity and leverage reporting, including analysis of capital requirements, regulatory metrics and reporting trends
- Coordinate responses to regulatory queries, thematic reviews, internal audit, external audit and assurance requests, ensuring evidence is complete, consistent and delivered to agreed timelines
- Manage the current structure’s international regulatory reporting dependencies through coordination with International Finance and third-party providers, while supporting future capability build for international regulatory reporting
- Provide day-to-day direction, review and technical support to regulatory reporting colleagues, embedding consistent standards, knowledge sharing, documented procedures and cross-training
- Drive improvements aligned to the Finance TOM principles of right-first-time reporting, stronger controls, reduced manual effort, clearer accountability, better data lineage and lower key-person dependency
Role Requirements
- Qualified accountant preferred, or equivalent
- Regulatory reporting, prudential reporting, risk, treasury or banking finance experience. Relevant regulatory reporting, capital, liquidity, data analytics or finance systems qualifications desirable
- Experience in regulatory reporting, finance, risk or treasury within banking or financial services
- Strong practical experience preparing or reviewing COREP, FINREP and related prudential returns
- Experience working with regulatory reporting systems, data feeds, validation rules, reconciliations, control evidence and submission governance
- Prior exposure to PRA/FCA/Bank of England reporting expectations, regulatory change implementation, audit/regulatory queries and cross-functional reporting dependencies
- Experience leading or coaching analysts/accountants and coordinating inputs across Finance, Risk, Treasury, Compliance, Operations, IT/Data and external providers
