Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Payroll Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees in accordance with UK legislation, company policies, and statutory requirements. This role requires strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- Prepare and process monthly payrolls for internal regional offices for South East Region
- Input, check, and reconcile all payroll data including overtime, bonuses, deductions, pension contributions, statutory payments, and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements including PAYE, NIC, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP).
- Manage new starter and leaver processes, including P45 forms and final payments.
Compliance & Reporting
- Submit Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC accurately and on time.
- Process end-of-year payroll procedures including P60s and P11Ds.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records in line with GDPR requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate payroll documentation when required.
Pensions & Benefits
- Administer workplace pension schemes including auto-enrolment, opt-ins, and opt-outs.
- Upload pension files to Aviva and resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage employee benefits-related payroll adjustments.
Communication & Support
- Respond to payroll queries from employees promptly and professionally.
- Liaise with Advisory, Finance, and Area managing partners where applicable to ensure smooth payroll operations.
- Provide payroll reports for finance or management teams as needed.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in a payroll administration role (essential).
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, BrightPay, ADP, or similar).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
