Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our FM Digital Channels team at a leading international bank. You will drive our platform forward and deliver quality solutions to business-critical customer requirements, collaborating with a dynamic global team of technologists, business analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders across multiple locations.

Team & Reporting Line

The FM Digital Channels team is responsible for cross-product transactional pricing of derivatives within the bank. The team culture is open, intellectual, and engaging, with plentiful learning opportunities and clear pathways for career advancement for high-performing talent.

Location & Work Mode

This role is based in London, UK, offering a hybrid work arrangement with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home each week.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drive platform development forward and deliver high-quality solutions to business-critical customer requirements
2. Collaborate with global teams across multiple locations including technologists, business analysts, and project managers
3. Take full ownership of the complete development lifecycle from design through support
4. Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end financial markets systems
5. Write efficient, clear, and robust code with comprehensive accompanying test suites

Required Qualifications

1. 5+ years of hands-on development experience in investment banking IT environments
2. Excellent Core Java development skills with strong software design principles
3. Proven experience with Java concurrency and Spring Framework
4. Derivatives and FX Options trading technology experience
5. Experience designing and supporting real-time event-driven architectures
6. Proficiency working in agile development environments
7. Fluent English language skills (both speaking and writing)

1. Full-stack web development experience
2. RX Java expertise
3. Micro-services and container technologies experience (Docker)
4. Distributed data stores experience
5. Functional programming background
6. e-trading technology experience
7. CI/CD and DevOps familiarity

Compensation & Benefits

1. Rate: £750 PAYE Inside IR35 (equivalent to £195,000 annually)
2. Contract Duration: 6 months with extensions available (long-term project with 2-4+ years potential)
3. 38 days annual leave
