An established and growing MGA is seeking an experienced Financial Lines Underwriting Manager to drive the profitable growth and development of its SME and Mid-Market Financial Lines portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused underwriting professional to take ownership of a key portfolio, strengthen broker and insurer relationships, and play a leading role in future business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments across Financial Lines products.
- Drive profitable growth through new business development and relationship management.
- Build and maintain strong broker and insurer partnerships.
- Support the development and launch of new products and propositions.
- Manage, mentor and support a small underwriting team.
- Act as a referral point for underwriting decisions and technical queries.
- Contribute to business plans, budget delivery and strategic growth initiatives.
- Ensure service standards and underwriting compliance are consistently maintained.
Requirements
- Experience underwriting Financial Lines risks within an insurer or MGA environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of Financial Lines products.
- Proven ability to develop broker relationships and generate profitable business.
- Commercially minded with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Cert CII qualified or working towards qualification.
- Leadership or team management experience preferred.
- Acturis experience would be advantageous.
