Interim Vice President, Debt Advisory (4-5 Month Contract)
Location: London (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Interim Consultancy Agreement (4-5 Months)
Compensation: Monthly Retainer + Project Completion Bonus
An independent advisory platform is seeking an experienced Interim Vice President to support the execution of an active debt advisory mandate. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced leveraged finance, debt advisory, or private credit professional who is motivated by transaction execution and wants to play a meaningful role on a live deal.
Working directly alongside the deal lead, this individual will be involved in all aspects of the financing process, from debt analysis and lender engagement through to term sheet negotiation and execution. The role is suited to someone who enjoys being at the centre of transactions and is comfortable taking ownership rather than operating in a purely presentation-focused capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of live financing transactions across corporate debt advisory and leveraged finance mandates.
- Analyse and review lender proposals, debt term sheets, and financing structures.
- Prepare and maintain financing comparison grids, pricing analyses, and debt benchmarking materials.
- Assist in negotiating commercial terms with lenders and financing providers.
- Review debt documentation and advise on covenant packages and financing structures.
- Work alongside sponsors, management teams, lenders, and advisors throughout transaction processes.
- Enhance existing financial models, including capital structure analysis and financing scenarios where required.
- Contribute to debt capacity assessments and financing recommendations for leveraged buyouts and corporate transactions.
- Operate as a core member of the deal team with direct exposure to senior stakeholders and decision makers.
Candidate Requirements
- Vice President level experience within Debt Advisory, Private Credit, Leveraged Finance, or a related financing discipline.
- Strong understanding of debt products, term sheets, pricing dynamics, covenant structures, and lender processes.
- Experience supporting middle-market financing transactions and leveraged buyouts.
- Ability to independently assess financing proposals and negotiate key debt terms.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, including the ability to modify and enhance existing sponsor-built models.
- Demonstrable transaction experience with several completed debt financing or leveraged finance transactions.
- Commercial mindset with a willingness to get involved in detailed execution work.
- Positive, proactive, and collaborative approach.
What's on Offer
- Immediate involvement in an active transaction with significant responsibility and exposure.
- Direct partnership with an experienced deal lead on a high-profile mandate.
- Consultancy structure offering flexibility and autonomy.
- Competitive monthly retainer alongside a completion bonus.
- Additional performance-related upside based on contribution and successful project delivery.
- Opportunity to apply specialist debt expertise in a highly entrepreneurial environment.
This opportunity would be particularly attractive to individuals from debt advisory teams, leveraged finance groups, credit-focused investment firms, or private capital advisory practices who are interested in interim project-based work and wish to remain closely connected to live transaction activity.
