Introduction

Our client are supporting the Development of Courseware for the Royal Navy new class of Ship.

They are looking for a Weapons Engineering Submarine (WESM) Tactical Weapons System (TWS) subject matter expert to be responsible for gathering the technical data to support the courseware and media development programme.

This is a remote role with occasional travel to Reading.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Courseware and Media Teams to identify technical data requirements for the development of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) courseware and media.
• Work with the courseware and media content developers to contextualise training and language and ensure correct conditions and standards are applied to the training solution.
• Work as a member of a team responsible for the analysis, design, maintenance, review and production of DSAT Documentation and processes for training sites and organisations.
• Interviewing subject matter experts to collate required data, participate in internal workshops to discuss and agree findings from analysis.
• Work with the customer and the customer's agents and suppliers to identify technical data required for courseware and media development and also routes to obtain the data.
• Work with the courseware and media content developers to contextualise training and language and ensure correct conditions and standards are applied to the training solution.
• Conduct the upkeep, update and revalidation of course technical data.

Skills & experience

• Proven at sea experience as a WESM TWS e.g. in a TWEO, DWEO or TWS GP Chief/Head role.
• The WESM TWS SME will have suitable knowledge, skills and behaviour and will understand the technical data required, the sources of that data and how to access that data.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

• On Watch WEO duty.
• SCOOW duty.
• Planesman duty.
• DCHQ duties
• Training requirements, design or delivery.
• DE&S/SDA.

Please note that the client has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and therefore this contract will be run through an Umbrella Company. Income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.
