A global investment bank is looking to bring on a Director of Prime Services Risk to their team based in their New York office. This role will report to the Global Head of Prime Risk and manage a small team in the US.
This person will be responsible for leading the US Prime Risk business and developing the risk framework which includes margin risk methodologies. This person will also have to work with various team such as trading teams and counterparty teams to work cohesively to ensure all risk coverage. They will also lead stress testing and scenario analysis for the business.
This ideal hire should have 8+ years of risk experience, ideally Prime Brokerage experience, with a deep understanding of products across various asset classes. Experience managing a team is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead risk oversight for the U.S. Prime Brokerage business, monitoring key exposures and emerging risks across client portfolios.
- Collaborate with various teams across the business like CCR and Trading teams to provide risk coverage
- Develop risk frameworks including margin risk methodologies
- Drive stress testing and scenario analysis for the business
- Establish and strengthen risk governance, controls, policies, and reporting frameworks across the business.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of risk experience, ideally within the Prime space
- Ability to lead and manage a team
- Strong understanding of market risk and counterparty risk processes and metrics
- Strong knowledge across a range of PB offerings and products like financing, securities lending, and OTC clearing
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and effectively partner with front-office trading teams.
