As a Vice President and Manager within the Financial Crimes Emerging Crime Team, you will lead a team of investigators responsible for identifying, assessing, and investigating emerging financial crime risks, typologies, and threats impacting the firm. You will provide strategic leadership and oversight across investigative activities, typology development, intelligence gathering, and financial crime risk assessments while ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and enterprise priorities.
This role requires strong people leadership, program management, and analytical expertise. You will partner across Compliance, Fraud, Operations, Technology, Product, Risk, and Line of Business teams to drive proactive identification of emerging threats, enhance Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) effectiveness, and develop scalable solutions that strengthen the firm's financial crime framework. You will cultivate a high-performing team, champion innovation, and influence strategic decision-making through data-driven insights and investigative intelligence.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage a team of Emerging Crime Investigators responsible for identifying, assessing, and investigating emerging financial crime risks, trends, and typologies.
- Provide oversight and strategic direction for complex investigations while ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to regulatory and firm requirements.
- Drive the identification and communication of emerging fraud, money laundering, and broader financial crime threats through intelligence, analytics, and investigative insights.
- Partner across Compliance, Fraud, Operations, Technology, and Business teams to strengthen financial crime detection, risk mitigation, and investigative effectiveness.
- Lead strategic initiatives and governance activities supporting typology development, program enhancements, operating model evolution, and financial crime risk management.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics, reporting, quality standards, and continuous improvement opportunities across the function.
- Present risk insights, emerging trends, and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and strong risk management practices while coaching and developing high-performing talent.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Minimum 7 years of experience in financial crime investigations, Anti-Money laundering, fraud risk management, Compliance, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or people management experience.
- Strong knowledge of AML, fraud, sanctions, financial crime regulatory requirements and industry practices.
- Experience leading complex investigations, intelligence programs, typology development, or strategic risk initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, lead cross-functional programs, and drive organizational change.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and executive presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing teams while exercising sound judgment and discretion.
