A leading insurance organization is seeking an experienced actuary to join its Life Assumptions team. This role will focus on experience studies, assumption development, and in-force life insurance analytics that support key valuation, forecasting, and financial reporting initiatives. The position offers significant visibility across actuarial, finance, and risk management functions and provides the opportunity to influence strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform life insurance experience studies, including mortality, lapse, and premium persistency analyses.
- Develop, recommend, and maintain actuarial assumptions used for valuation, forecasting, and risk management purposes.
- Analyze emerging experience and identify trends impacting liabilities and business performance.
- Partner with valuation, finance, reinsurance, and actuarial modeling teams to support assumption setting and governance.
- Prepare clear documentation, controls, and presentations related to assumption development and study findings.
- Communicate technical actuarial results to both actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders.
- Support ad hoc analyses and strategic initiatives related to life insurance in-force management.
Qualifications
- ASA or FSA designation preferred.
- 5+ years of actuarial experience within life insurance.
- Experience performing life insurance experience studies and assumption setting.
- Strong knowledge of mortality, lapse, and persistency assumptions.
- Familiarity with GAAP, Statutory, and/or Tax reporting for life insurance products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex information effectively.
