Major Public Sector Program | Sydney | Contract Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced SAP HR/HCM Functional Consultant to join a large-scale SAP transformation program within a major public sector organisation. This organisation is undertaking a complex SAP ECC6 to S/4HANA (cloud) transformation, alongside key HR system initiatives. This is a critical role within a high-priority program requiring a consultant who can deliver in a fast-paced, outcome-driven environment.
The Opportunity
You will play a key role supporting the onboarding of a System Integrator and driving HR functional design across a highly customised SAP environment. Working closely with internal teams and vendors, you will contribute to the transformation of core HR and payroll processes.
With a planned go-live in July next year, this role requires someone who can hit the ground running and remain committed through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SAP HR/HCM functional analysis as part of an ECC6 to S/4HANA transformation
- Assess and define strategy for ~6000 custom HR objects (retain, retire, redesign)
- Deliver SAP HR business process mapping aligned with organisational requirements
- Provide deep expertise across SAP Payroll, including complex configurations
- Support System Integrator onboarding and collaborate across vendor teams
- Contribute to testing strategies, including payroll validation and parallel runs
- Work closely with internal SAP BAU teams to leverage existing system knowledge
- 10-14+ years' SAP HR/HCM experience
- Proven experience delivering ECC to S/4HANA transformations (essential)
- Deep knowledge of SAP Payroll in complex, customised environments
- Strong capability in analysing and transforming custom SAP HR objects
- Solid understanding of conversion processes and testing frameworks
- Experience working with and/or leading vendors and delivery teams
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Prior experience within public sector environments highly regarded
- Ability to meet strict background and vetting requirements
- Willingness to commit for the full lifecycle of the program
