Job Title: Head of International Research and Development
Location: Central, Hong Kong
Our client is a pharmaceutical company listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It implements the following development strategies: establishing a foundation in the traditional Chinese medicine industry; advancing innovative drugs and medical technologies; and developing high-quality medical and healthcare services. The company is dedicated to becoming a pharmaceutical enterprise with market competitiveness and a core value chain across drug development, medical technology, traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment, and health management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the formulation and implementation of the company’s mid- to long-term R&D strategy, supported by annual operating plans. Oversee the full R&D lifecycle—from project evaluation and initiation to successful scale-up and commercial handover—while designing and continuously improving operating procedures and governance frameworks;
- Build, lead, and continuously strengthen a high-performing innovative drug R&D team. Develop a sustainable talent pipeline and succession bench, nurture future leaders, and proactively resolve technical challenges to ensure project quality, on-time delivery, and achievement of milestones;
- Lead the assessment and integration of breakthrough technologies. Prepare project initiation proposals and represent the company in high-value external collaborations, joint research programs, and strategic alliances. Actively contribute to business development, corporate strategy formulation, and investment-related activities.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or above in biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences (Chinese or Western medicine), or a closely related discipline;
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical R&D and project leadership, including prior tenure in senior scientific or executive roles such as Chief Scientist or Head of R&D. Deep and up-to-date knowledge of domestic and international drug development pathways, regulatory frameworks, and evolving industry policies;
- Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and leadership, with excellent communication skills, and strong team spirit and professional conduct.
