Settlement Associate / Vice President (Equities & Bonds)(Up to 55k)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end settlement process for trades executed in overseas markets, including the US, Europe and Asia, covering Equities and Bond products.
- Ensure all settlement activities are processed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Handle daily settlement operations, including:
- Trade matching
- Client stock deposits and withdrawals
- Settlement Instructions (SI)
- Corporate actions processing
- Perform pre-matching of settlement instructions, daily trade bookings and settlement processing.
- Ensure all post-trade processing and reconciliations are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Liaise with global custodians, sub-custodians, counterparties and internal stakeholders to resolve settlement issues and ensure timely trade completion.
- Respond to Front Office enquiries and provide operational support.
- Ensure settlement procedures comply with local market regulations and market conventions.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments, market practices and cross-border tax requirements.
- Lead and participate in projects relating to system implementation, enhancement and process optimisation.
- Gather and define business requirements, review functional specifications, conduct testing and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Work closely with system vendors and internal departments to monitor project progress and ensure successful delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology or related disciplines.
- Approximately 4-8 years of experience in securities settlement or custody operations, preferably with international market exposure.
- Experience covering Equities and/or Bonds products is required.
- Exposure to structured products or OTC derivatives will be an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of cross-border securities settlement processes and market practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in data analysis.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese is required; Mandarin is an advantage.
