The Aviation & Federal (A&F) global practice has an exciting opportunity for a Associate Senior Electrical engineer that has a desire to apply technical design experience while actively engaging their entrepreneurial spirit to start a A&F fueling group presence within BMcD India. The position is available for Electrical engineers with 8 years of relevant experience. Burns & McDonnell is considered the leading consultant in the aircraft fueling industry. We are engaged in high-visibility projects, large and small at major airports. Additionally, the fueling department executes projects for major oil companies and other industrial clients, including pipeline terminals and truck loading facilities. Successful candidates will work closely with Project manager to support the A&F Fueling team in US on projects and tasks. The candidate will perform as a hands-on engineer to grow the work and eventually will help with hiring & retention of engineers and designers as the team grows. There is a great potential for this position to become a leader in years to come.
Responsibilities : The Senior electrical engineer will manage team of designers and engineers to create world class design on a variety of projects from concept design through completion of construction. Project focus would be Aviation & fueling facilities but could include a variety of other facilities including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, or institutional facilities in the US. Specific areas of responsibility include the following:
1.Designs electrical systems/equipment to provide a useful and safe environment for the A&F market in accordance with the clients' requirements for reliability and uptime.
2.Advises clients regarding electrical systems/requirements available to meet their needs and comply with all applicable codes.
3.Monitors installation of designed equipment/systems to ensure compliance with design documents.
4.Conducts fault studies, arch flash, harmonic analysis, motor starting and load flow analysis. Develop design criteria for protective device coordination, relay selection, medium voltage transformers, switchgear, medium and low voltage distribution.
5.Perform independent design calculations for electrical equipment like transformers, DG sets, cables (HV &LV), lighting, grounding, AC/DC UPS, NGR and capacitor sizing.
6.Able to develop and/or lead the design of electrical master plans for facilities encompassing but not limited to the following: reliable power distribution, motor control centers, energy efficient lighting systems, communications and telecom routing, instrumentation and controls for HVAC systems, fire-alarm interface, building level uninterrupted power systems (UPS) systems, engine generators.
7.Reviews electrical designs and specifications of equipment or systems being purchased or fabricated.
8.Provides electrical design direction and resource management on multi-discipline projects
9.Developing concept studies, designs, detail single line diagram (SLD) for HV/LV systems, layouts for power / grounding / lighting and narratives.
10.Participate in the Identification, recruiting and management of resources to meet the needs of the business
11.All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1.Certifications / Skills:
a.Possess knowledge of all applicable standards and codes
b.AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), and Strong computer skills necessary to accomplish electrical designs.
c.Software Skills: SPELL, ETAP / SKM and Dialux / Visual
d.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
2.Minimum Education:
a.Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute.
3.Minimum Experience:
a.8 years of experience in the design, installation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems.
b.A working knowledge of control systems and fundamental communication interfaces
c.Demonstrated abilities as a project discipline lead
d.Aviation & Fueling facility experience is plus
e.Knowledge of critical facility design and infrastructure
f.Sound understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC), 70E, 75, 101, 780 and other applicable sections and standards like IEEE and IEC
