About the Team
The mission of the Europe Metallics Purchasing organisation is the procurement of ferrous metallic scraps, including HBI (Hot Briquetted Iron), DRI (Direct Reduced Iron), Pig Iron, Beach Iron, Skulls and billets (which are part of a broader and more comprehensive list).
As a part of ArcelorMittal Europe Long Products, our operational scope is extended within ArcelorMittal Europe Flat Products' s perimeter as well.
Our expert buyers supply the internal customers, the so called "users", by providing efficient and reliable services and support, ensuring full compliance with the European and regional standards and regulations.
Even though the organisation is centrally managed, our buyers and users are located in five different regions and operating within international and multicultural environments.
A central business intelligence department is in place to support on the strategy, value creation follow-up, processes and procedures and contributes in the development of a "best-in-class" Metallics Purchasing organisation.
We have access to transversal projects and topics and play a key role towards the identification and anticipation of global market dynamics and the definition of strategies for future deployment of green steel production, with the ultimate objective of reducing CO2 emissions in Europe.
About the role:
- Actively participate in the strategic procurement activities for Maintenance & Repair Services subcategory in the Cluster.
- Build transparency of subcategory spend in the Cluster and drive cost reduction.
- Work closely with internal customers and logistics people in sites to ensure effective strategic procurement and business continuity.
- Work closely with Lead Buyers and Maintenance organization in conducting research on supply markets, price benchmarks, and supplier profiles.
Key Responsabilities:
- Execute supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting for the mills/sites.
- Develop and maintain supplier profiles: Manage Supplier relationship and monitor contract compliance.
- Deliver savings and subcategory KPI targets and assist Lead Buyer with necessary analyses:
- Spend data analysis and basic financial analyses,
- Performance reporting
- Category strategy development (ex: supply market research, price benchmarks),
- Supplier profile maintenance.
- Achieve effective procurement and business continuity by cooperation with internal customers across sites.
- Participate in transversal working groups and projects.
Profile:
- Master in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration
- Previous experience in a Purchasing team
- Fluent in French and English, any other European language would be an advantage
- You have problem-solving, analytical skills and good ease facing numbers.
- You have a good technical knowledge of contracts and targeted systems but also in project management and negotiation.
- You demonstrate leadership and communication skills.
- You have an appetite for finding information about innovative industry and for market analysis.
- Knowledge of quality management norms (ISO 9001...) would be a plus.
