Description
As a Staff Accountant in MDD Forensic Accountants (a Davies Business), you will be part of a team of professionals who help evaluate and determine litigation damages, business valuations and insurance claims in a clear and concise manner that can stand up to scrutiny.
Our partners and senior staff regularly provide extensive litigation services and expert witness testimony in courts, arbitrations and mediations throughout the world and the role of Staff Accountant is crucial in supporting them to do so.
Current and past assignments include a variety of high-profile cases related to commercial litigation, fraud and corruption, business valuations, business disputes, natural and man-made catastrophes, lost profits, business interruption, product liability and recall, and subrogation.
The successful candidates will be supported to obtain a globally-recognised accounting qualification, along with job-specific training and mentoring by experienced accounting professionals. Once qualified, many of our senior accountants pursue secondary qualifications in specialist areas such as fraud investigation or business valuation and the role is best suited to individuals with long-term career aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
- Analysis of sales, production and other accounting data provided by clients or obtained through research to provide accurate analysis of likely business performance
- Physical inventory observation, price testing
- Examination of source documents pertinent to engagement
- Checking and proofing reports and schedules
- Conducting phone or in person interviews to obtain information
- Attend marketing events and functions with clients
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Accounting or finance-related degree with demonstrable post-graduate work experience
- Working towards )or willing to commit to) an accounting qualification or designation
- Strong attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities
- A strong team-player but who can work independently and take ownership of own deliverables
- Confident communicator who is happy to engage with stakeholders internal and external of MDD
- Must be able to work under pressure or tight deadlines
- Ability to learn and understand how loss events may impact a business
- IT literate with good MS office skills. Accounting software experience, a plus!
- Vietnamese, Tagalog or Bahasa Indonesia language skills will be considered beneficial but are not essential.
- International travel required
