Our client is an established global organisation looking for a Tax Director/ Senior Tax Director to lead its APAC tax portfolio.

Requirements

• Big 4 Tax experience, complemented by strong regional tax experience gained within a multinational commercial environment.
• In addition to tax compliance, strong experience in tax advisory, including M&A and transaction-related tax matters, is essential.
• Exposure to a US-headquartered multinational can be advantageous, along with the flexibility to collaborate with global stakeholders across different time zones.
• Comfortable operating within a lean team structure and navigating a fast-paced, dynamic and international business environment.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a proactive, driven and resourceful approach.

The Role

As the Tax Director/ Senior Tax Director, you will hold a broad regional leadership role covering corporate tax compliance and reporting alongside a focus on tax advisory, business partnering and transaction-related matters. The role will work closely with regional Finance, operations and business leaders, as well as the global tax team, providing tax guidance as the organisation continues to grow and invest across the region.

You will oversee corporate income tax compliance and reporting across APAC, including managing external advisers, reviewing tax filings and provisions, supporting transfer pricing requirements and handling matters with local tax authorities. Beyond compliance, you will act as a key tax adviser to the business, assessing tax implications arising from cross-border activities, complex structures and evolving business requirements. The role will also contribute to strengthening tax governance, controls and reporting processes, with an ongoing focus on technology, automation and process improvement.

The position will also play an active role in M&A and investment-related tax matters, supporting tax due diligence, evaluating transaction structures and assessing the tax implications of acquisitions, investments and changes to regional operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong corporate income tax and tax accounting experience, broad APAC exposure, and experience advising on complex transactions within an international environment. Strong commercial judgement, stakeholder management and the ability to operate as both a technical tax leader and trusted business partner will be important.
