Our client is a leading multinational company to appoint a Senior Tax Director, APAC, responsible for driving the regional tax agenda across compliance, advisory, and transaction-related matters while partnering closely with business, finance, legal, and external stakeholders. This position will serve as the key tax leader for the region.

The Role

This is a highly visible regional role with broad exposure across APAC and engagement with global leadership teams. The successful candidate will oversee the regional tax function, balancing operational excellence with strategic business partnering in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

The portfolio is expected to comprise:

• Tax Compliance
• Tax Advisory and Business Partnering
• M&A and Transaction Tax Support

You will play a key role in managing tax compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions, advising on complex tax matters, supporting business growth initiatives, and providing tax input on acquisitions, restructurings, and other strategic projects. This role will also drive process improvements, governance, and tax transformation initiatives across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee direct tax compliance and reporting activities across APAC.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors on tax planning, advisory, and risk management matters.
• Provide practical and commercially focused tax guidance to finance, operations, legal, and business teams.
• Support transaction-related activities, including acquisitions, integrations, restructurings, and due diligence processes.
• Manage relationships with tax authorities, advisors, and key external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with global tax and finance teams on tax accounting, transfer pricing, and regional tax initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardisation of tax processes across the region.
• Influence senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic decision-making as a trusted tax advisor.

Your Profile

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following relevant skills sets and experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting or equivalent professional qualification.
• Big 4 tax training with subsequent in-house commercial experience.
• Strong mix of tax compliance, tax advisory, and transaction tax exposure.
• Experience supporting multinational businesses across multiple jurisdictions.
• Prior exposure to Infrastructure, real estate, or property-related sectors would be advantageous, but is not essential.
• Experience within a US-headquartered multinational is helpful but not mandatory.
• Strong corporate tax knowledge, including tax reporting and international tax matters.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders, and operate independently.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Results-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working within a lean team structure.
• Flexible to participate in occasional evening calls with stakeholders in the US and other global regions.
