A 37-year-old partner at hedge fund Citadel retired to study psychology

Eike Schick, a 37-year-old partner at hedge fund Citadel in London, has left to pursue a degree in psychology at King's College. 

Schick is a good student. His first degree, at UCL nearly two decades ago, was in economics and he got a first. 

Schick spent five years as a portfolio manager at Citadel in London. The fund hired him in 2021 to join its commodities team. Before that, he was head of the European natural gas desk at Freepoint Commodities.

Citadel's commodities team is one of its most profitable. During his tenure at Citadel, Schick was a partner at Citadel HF Management Europe, Citadel's highly profitable London subsidiary. Schick can presumably afford to study art or English literature next. 

Citadel declined to comment.
