The best fintechs to work for, listed
Our 2025 Ideal Employer report is out, and like in previous years, has been dominated by traditional finance (and now consulting). But as ever, there were a strong cohort of voters who eschewed TradFi – and instead see their careers developing in a more unique financial institution, such as a fintech.

Many of our respondents who said they wanted to work in fintech were based in London. And of all of London’s fintechs, it was Revolut that was seen to be the Ideal Employer in the industry. Revolut performed particularly well among voters for these two qualitative statements:
- This company is good for flexible working. (4% above the global average)
- This company is good for innovation. (4% above the global average)
Revolut’s position as the winner fintech is, perhaps, not a surprise. The London-based bank received 1.6m job applications in 2024 alone, of which it accepted some 0.1% of applicants. Revolut is a very, very in demand employer.
Although Revolut performed generally well in our rankings, it was also considered below average by some metrics, such as for perceptions of its integrity, and (ever so slightly) for the quality of its compensation. The latter is surprising: Revolut’s rising valuation has created dozens of paper millionaires over the years.
In second place was the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, which won our fintech category last year. Binance is an interesting company, even by fintech standards. It has no headquarters. Respondents like it for its flexible work arrangements, as well as the novelty of its work. It was also rated the healthiest place to work in finance, according to our respondents.
Monzo finished in third. The London-based online bank was praised by respondents for its innovation, and well as for offering interesting work that had meaning. However, respondents did not consider it as well-paying as other firms. That is particularly surprising, with almost £110m cashed out by internal shareholders as of the firm's latest annual report.
