Deutsche Bank's $10m ex-chief risk officer is joining Barclays after a good rest
Olivier Vigneron is not running a vineyard. Nor is he sailing into the sunset with all the money he earned at Deutsche Bank. Instead, he is joining Barclays in a possibly more relaxing role.

Vigneron was Deutsche Bank's group chief risk officer from November 2021 until December last year. As we observed when he left, Vigneron earned at least $10m during this time there. He departed DB after reportedly deciding not "seek an extension of his contract."
Eleven months after tending his resignation, Vigneron has signed a new contract at Barclays. It's understood that he's joining the British bank soon as chief risk officer for Barclays Bank PLC, a role that seems less weighty than his global job at Deutsche Bank. Barclays' group chief risk officer is Taalib Shaah, who joined from Citi over a decade ago.
Vigneron's new job will, however, not be entirely easy. It's subject to regulatory approval and as a senior manager at group level, Vigneron will be held personally liable for any regulatory breaches that take place at Barclays Bank in the UK, unless he can show that he's taken reasonable steps to prevent them.
Some time out was presumably needed in the circumstances.
