Hedge fund Millennium appears to have hired a portfolio manager from Maven Securities
Millennium, the multistrategy hedge fund, has been building out its European equities business under Peter Santoro its co-head of global equities, who moved to London last year. Now, it seems to have hired a discretionary delta one portfolio manager for that stable.
It's understood that Niall Barton, a portfolio manager at Maven Securities in London, is on his way to Millennium. Barton, who spent three years at Maven, initially in Amsterdam, resigned in June and is on gardening leave. Barton previously worked for IMC trading and Susquehanna International, and appears to have done the rounds of electronic trading houses before settling on a fund.
Millennium declined to comment on Barton's alleged arrival.
Maven is a London-based proprietary trading firm with 400 employees. It's added 75 of them so far this year. Last year it paid £222.7k per head.
