The best recruiters in sales & trading aren’t who you expect them to be
Who are the best (Ideal, even) recruiters to work with in finance? It’s hard to pin down. Professionals can easily consult the eFinancialCareers Ideal Employer Report to know the best firms to work for – but what are the best recruiters that can get you jobs at those employers?

It’s a good question to ask. And it’s why we’ve launched our Ideal Recruiter rankings, which are based on a survey of over 7,500 financial services professionals that we held across the entirety of 2025.
In the field of sales & trading, the ideal recruiter was voted to be Selby Jenning. Selby Jennings also swept the investment banking category.
One respondent to our survey, based in the US, said that the firm was a “pretty good outfit”, which covered “major aspects of the recruitment process which, in my experience, are beneficial to applicants.” He rated the firm top marks on its ability to provide market knowledge and access high-quality people.
In second place was sales & trading specialist recruiter H.W. Anderson. The firm has six key practice areas: Commodities, Equities, Quant Strategies, Macro, Credit and Private Equity, and some fifty employees servicing those functions. It has offices in New York, Edinburgh, Dublin, and Dubai.
Armstrong International came third. The London-based firm, which also has offices in New York, Miami, and Skopje (Macedonia), hires for a variety of industries including hedge funds – and hires in specialties fixed income, macro, credit, and systematic funds.
