Multiple sources say that Jefferies has hired Michael Georgis, the former Morgan Stanley head of fixed income who joined Barclays in July. Georgis has left again after two months.
Neither Georgis nor Barclays responded to a request to comment for this article. Jefferies declined to comment.
It's understood that Georgis is joining Jefferies as a managing director and country head of Switzerland for fixed income. At Barclays, he was a director in a similar role.
Jefferies doesn't have much of a fixed income trading presence in Switzerland and Georgis is expected to build a team there. If you want him to hire you, it may be a good idea to get in touch.
In the meantime, he's presumably embarking on the second round of gardening leave in a few months. It's a good life for some.
