JPMorgan hiring tech transformation MDs from Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank has been more aggressive than most in the dismantling of its legacy tech. While other banks have decommissioned applications in the hundreds, it has done so in the thousands. Now, one of the MDs helping Deutsche in its mission has arrived at JPMorgan.

Bill Mott has joined the US bank as its global head of transformation. Mott spent 22 years at Deutsche Bank and was latterly an MD and COO of the corporate bank technology and product office. While there, he says he helped establish "a unified, agile-based transformation organization."

Mott isn't the only tech MD to join JPMorgan this month. Pranay Jain joined the bank this week as an MD and global head of treasury technology. Jain spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs, joining as an associate in 2006 and making MD in 2021.

Jain too, is a transformation specialist. His most recent role was global head of fund accounting engineering, in which he migrated the division's technology to AWS.

JPMorgan is well in the throes of its own transformation; as of 2022 the bank had decommissioned over 2500 applications. It has also been one of the most bullish banks on AI, however, and will likely continue to transform its architecture to accommodate the technology in the future.
