JPMorgan's top London AI recruiter says someone is impersonating him
If you aspire to a job as a managing director at JPMorgan working in AI, or data, or engineering, you should be excited to hear from Rob Lowth. Lowth is the bank's executive search recruiter for these important areas.
If you hear from him, though, you should be circumspect.

Writing on LinkedIn, Lowth says someone is impersonating him and is sending emails via Gmail in his name. They are doing so to "solicit information." - "Stay vigilant!," he commands.
If you get an email from Lowth, you will now it's from the "real Rob" if it's sent from "rob.lowth@jpmchase.com." This is his genuine email address. You could presumably also email him there if you want him to give you a job.
Lowth's impersonator is the latest in a long line of recruitment scams. Nine years ago, Point72 was warning about fake emails from its hiring team, for example. In April the Wall Street Journal reported that scammers have achieved a new level of sophistication and are pretending to be recruiters listed on LinkedIn, using private email addresses. Lowth appears to be a target.
Lowth only makes MD level hires, so if you're junior and you hear from him, it's reasonably certain that you are being scammed. If you're senior and eligible for a job as a distinguished engineer, maybe the real Rob has approached you. But at this level, you should be capable of discerning this for yourself.
